Fairburn Mews
Location and contact details
Fairburn Mews is a purpose-built facility offering nursing and residential care for people living with complex mental health needs.
At Fairburn Mews, care and activity plans are built around service users to both support and encourage them to be happy and fulfilled. Goals set are personal to each individual, identified by working closely with individuals, families and professionals, to ensure outcomes of care are achievable.
Fairburn Mews has two units; Hulme and Lowry, both boasting 10 bedrooms equipped with TV and telephone points, WiFi and an accessible en-suite wet room.
The Hulme unit provides care for those enduring mental health conditions and complex behaviours, while Lowry provides nursing care for those with neurological disabilities.
A dedicated visitors room is available for friends and family to use, featuring a sofa bed for overnight stays. Friends and family are encouraged to visit the home as regularly as possible, engage with loved ones and support them on their journey.
An accessible patio garden is available for all to socialise, relax and even carry out some gardening on the raised flower beds. The garden is widely used throughout the summer for service users to enjoy BBQs, summer fairs and other activities.
It is important to make every day better, which is why activity teams at Fairburn Mews work together with service users to create meaningful and exciting activities.
Staff facilitate group work, hobbies, and where appropiate, access to education and volunteering. Regular forums are carried out, allowing everyone to share their views on activities and suggest ideas for the future.
An accessible minibus is on-site, providing transport to the theatre, York Railway Museum, the coast, local attractions and more. Outings are a regular occurrence for Fairburn Mews, providing an exciting social calendar for all service users.
