The Cedars Nursing Home
Location and contact details
The Cedars is a warm and inviting residence located in four and a half acres of stunning grounds, in the tranquil village of Landford on the edge of the New Forest.
The home offers residential, nursing, respite, palliative, and dementia care. Bedrooms are set across three units - one unit is in the Grade II listed Old Cedars house and a further two in a modern extension.
Each unit features two living rooms and a dining room, while all furnishings and decor throughout the home are of an exceptionally high standard and residents can choose between the traditional features of Old Cedars and the more modern style of the new wing (depending on availability).
The nursing home has a large accessible garden with raised beds, ornate gardens and woodlands, and areas ideal for young children to play when they visit.
A team of trained chefs prepare a varied daily menu of nutritious, tasty food for residents to enjoy, and they can choose to eat in the restaurant-style dining room or in their own rooms as they prefer, while special diets can also be catered for.
Recreation and activities coordinators plan a wide range of activities for each day of the week: from picnics in the New Forest and pub lunches to dancing and live entertainment. If it’s sunny, staff try and get outside, so everyone can appreciate the best of the day. Residents vote on what they would like to do in monthly activity meetings and make comments in their satisfaction surveys, so that staff can be sure everyone’s looking forward to something, every day.
Technology has opened up the world for residents. From meeting a great-grandchild for the first time on Skype, to a live virtual tour of an art exhibition in Copenhagen. Staff are on hand to make sure everyone gets exactly what they want from technology.
