Southlands Residential Care Home
Location and contact details
Southlands Residential Care Home serves the village of Highweek, Newton Abbot and the surrounding South Devon area.
Experienced, caring, skilled staff offer residents a comfortable and relaxing home on a permanent, convalescent/intermediate care or holiday basis.
Staff focus on the intellectual, emotional and social well-being of individuals as well as their practical and physical needs.
Residents are involved and in control of their lives and in the life of the home. The care home recognises the importance of residents maintaining their existing social network and so operates an open-door policy 24-hours a day for family, friends and pets. Residents come and go as they please.
Residents run several committees to direct life at Southlands, from menus to day trips out and even staff recruitment.
Staff prepare fresh, home-cooked meals on-site, using local produce where possible and most special dietary needs can be catered for.
Staff members are selected for their attitude and personality as well as skills. The care home involves residents and their family in all decisions about care.
The home has just been completely refurbished to provide 31 bedrooms with ensuite facilities including 11 with full wet rooms and some with private patios.
People wishing to find out more about the home are most welcome to drop in for a cup of tea and cake.
