Calvert Trust Kielder has over 25 years of providing excellent, tailor-made, outdoor multi-activity residential breaks, adult respite care breaks and self-catering lodge holidays for people with disabilities, their family and friends. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission for the regulated activity of 'accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care'. Nursing care is not provided. The respite accommodation is part of a larger complex used by other groups and individuals who also access communal dining and sitting facilities.
Situated in the spectacular Kielder Water & Forest Park, one of the UK's most beautiful areas, this location offer 27 glorious miles of shoreline, a magical environment full of wildlife, clean air and magnificent expansive horizons.

Our centre has a hydrotherapy pool, sensory room, tv lounge, bar, games room and general lounge areas. All our meals are prepared by our chef and served in our dining room. Hot/cold drinks & snack vending machines are also available to access outside of meal times. Self-catering guests can eat with us or choose a meal from our delicious take-away menu.
All dietary requirements catered for.
District Nurse visit can be arranged at time of booking.

Respite guests can stay in single, double or twin rooms in our main centre. Rooms are en-suite with level entry shower rooms or bathrooms, and some contain specialist equipment such as hoists and electric beds. All bedrooms have grab rails and seats. Rooms have an electronic call system with some offering Vibra alarms for extra reassurance. Guide/Assistance dogs welcome to stay.

Respite Care breaks are available from the begining of February through to mid December. Breaks are primarily for 7 nights (Monday - Monday), however short 4 night breaks are also available during the year. We also offer theme weeks throughout the year such as Ladies pamper week, Blokey week, halloween week. These weeks are as our standard activity weeks but with a theme.
All our facilities, accommodation & activities are fully accessible. There are no steps on site. Some of our lodges are located up a slight hill, but all have car parking bays and there is an accessible path to and from the main centre.
We offer transport pick-ups and drop-offs to Hexham (rail or bus station), Longbenton and Newcastle (rail station or airport) on a Monday & Friday for an additional charge.
